A new world record has been set by Japanese musician Keita Hattori after he pressed a piano key 1,030 times in one minute!
Keita, already known for his exceptional speed in playing drums, showcased his talent once again—this time, on the piano. On December 20, 2024, he successfully surpassed his own record for the most piano key presses in one minute.
This wasn’t the first time he attempted such a challenge. In 2023, he set the world record twice after registering 892 and 958 presses. But he wasn’t satisfied—he wanted to beat his own mark!
After months of intense training, he used a new strategy. He sat at the far right of the piano and, using his index finger, rapidly pressed the highest C key until the minute was up—a tactic that allowed him to break the previous record.
Additionally, Keita set another world record for the most piano key presses in 30 seconds, recording 533 key hits. At this speed, it’s almost impossible to catch up with him!
Before his new record, the title was held by Romanian pianist Thurzó Zoltán, who had 500 key hits in October 2024. But now, Keita is the king of piano speed!
Keita Hattori is not only recognized for his piano skills. He also holds several Guinness World Records for his drum-playing speed, including: 1,334 single stroke roll drumbeats in one minute, 687 drumbeats in 30 seconds, and 3,706 drumbeats in three minutes.
